Heritage, Family & The Good Stuff

Chapter I - Heritage

Some names are just names. Others carry people inside them.
Gunde is one of those names.

I lost my mom early, but she left something with me I still carry.
From a young age, she taught me that how you dress matters.

Every Sunday, I'd pick out my clothes for the week and iron them, one by one.
It felt small at the time.
But the small things are the things that stay.

That was her. Intentional. Present. Proud, without ever needing to say it.

The name came from my dad's side.
And he's always carried it the same way he carries himself, with quiet confidence, no need for recognition. Just showing up, doing the work, being someone worth looking up to.

That's what Gunde is built on.

Not loud statements.
Not trends.
Just the belief that how you show up matters.

What you put on in the morning is a reflection of that,
to yourself, to your name, to the people who got you here.

When you wear Gunde, you're carrying that with you.

That's what Gunde means to me.

Chapter II - Family

I didn't start Gunde because I wanted to start a clothing brand.

I started it because I couldn't find a hat I liked.

So I made one.

Then I made another.

And somewhere along the way, I realized I had stories I wanted to tell.

Some of them come from the things that shaped me.

My family.

A house number that still reminds me of my mom.

Old cars. Fishing trips. The memories that seem to stick around forever.

Others are just things I think look cool and hope you wear often.

The kind of things that end up tagging along for the good stuff.

The road trip you've always wanted to take.

Your kid's first beach day.

A golf weekend with your buddies.

The moments you'll be glad you stopped to take a picture of.

I'd feel pretty lucky if one of my pieces was there for moments like that.

Not because of the hat, hoodie, or shirt itself.

But because most of life's best moments don't happen in suits and ties.

They happen in the things we wear every day.

I hope you find something in the stories I tell.

Or make some stories of your own in the things I make.

Because that's all that really matters.

Gunde.
